People said, an emperor and a beggar are the same in bath, which might imply a sense of equality for the body. But in reality, different values and social attributes have been imposed on the body according to people’s different status. While both workers and gym trainers use their body as their main medium of work, they have received very different responses. In 2016, I spent some time in a factory producing machines that produce machines to observe and study the movement involved in their work. The end result is an exercise developed and evolved from their movement, trying to reform this petrified reality and understanding of body through choreography and re-contextualisation of bodily movement.

人们说：皇帝和乞丐在洗澡的时候没有区别。但今天不同地位的人的身体，被赋予了不同的价值和社会属性，并以不同的方式被观看和接受。当“出大力”的工厂工人常被认为是一种低下工作的同时，健身教练、舞蹈\瑜伽老师、模特等体力劳动者却在被人们广泛地崇拜和模仿。这件作品试图通过对身体动作的重新编排和再语境化，改造固化了的身体的现实与认识。
